It is important that the children feel safe and happy whilst in our care. Children cannot play or learn successfully if they are anxious or unhappy.

Our ‘soft start’ settling in procedure aims to facilitate parents to help their children to feel comfortable in the nursery, to benefit what it has to offer and to be confident that their parents will return at the end of the session or day.

We aim to achieve this by providing a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere where children can learn and develop at their own pace. Soft Start enables parents and children to visit the nursery on a flexible basis and to gradually separate for short periods at first, steadily building up to where both parent and child are happy to be apart.
